(In my next Solo I will be attempting to get a Hoothoot, however because this has not happened I will make no mention of it here. We will assume its in the PC getting healed and leave it at that.) "Right, you've got it!"
Suchi was mimicing the water fountain perfectly, minus of course the arm's that sprouted from the stone. It was all about their training. Suchi had been very confused when Dominic had ordered it around in his last battle, and so he needed to give it the opportunity to learn. Another trainer battle would be the perfect test, and with Suchi and Clare up to speed, and Kazu ready for action, it seemed right that they battle someone who was worth the effort. The people in this town were far too snobby. Their actions were aggrevating and asking them to battle only proved that point.
"Hey kid, wanna...no...okay...Hey uh, sir you have a pokemon would you like to...no...well fine then"
It was as if he wasn't good enough! His temper was about to get the better of him, Suchi was already out of his ball and seemed to mimic Dominics actions, its face turning redder as it growled along side him. Suchi was growing closer to Dominic with each passing day, and Dom felt the same. With Suchi and Clare, he thought he may actually be able to beat just about anyone.
"Isn't there ANYONE out there who wants to battle!"
Ignored, the town was mocking him...but one would arrive.
Ira walked through the town with her riolu by her side, skimming the pages of her book with her index finger. She had mostly come here for the food (February was begging her to let him eat at the Cherville Grill; it better not be too expensive) but there were other places that were... not really calling out to her as much as she had originally thought. Yeah, there were nice clothing shops, but the feel of the fabric wasn't nice. It felt cheap and from what she had heard, those prices were way too outrageous for her to be spending her good money on. She sighed, Solace tugging at the sleeve of her sweatshirt as she continued forward. It was just her luck that she managed to pass an obnoxiously loud boy just in time for him to yell in the general vicinity of everywhere close to her.
She yelped and grabbed her riolu, who put on an expression of annoyance (getting picked up when Ira was scared was not the right road to go down) and patiently waited for Ira to put her down. Unfortunately, she didn't. Solace growled lowly and barked at the boy, telling him to apologize, fix it, do something to make her trainer stop crushing every bone in her body.
In the midst of his yelling, Dominic had failed to notice the young lady whom had approached him. Finally taking notice as the small pokemon barked at him his eyes met it. Instantly Dom was intrigued, whipping out his Pokedex. "Wow, hey little guy, what are you!?"
He said, entirely ignoring the girl, and the situation the dog like Pokemon was in. The Pokedex rang out as usual informing Dominic of his discovery.
Riolu the emanation Pokemon- It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy and rage in the form of waves.
Dom said, his Suchi jumping up from behind him waddling over to the two of them. Wooper, being of a playful nature was ready to play with its new friend and insisted loudly.
It said, nudging the young lady to get her to put the creature down so they could interact. Dominic, finally realizing that his yelling had somehow frightened her took a step back, assuming that she was probably becoming more nervous the closer he stood.
"O-oof..." The girl stammered, unable to hold her riolu like this for any longer. She finally released her friend, who took the deepest breath ever and exhaled in relief. That's when the pokedex chimed in. It spoke of... her Solace? Huh. She thought everyone knew about riolus. But then again, she barely knew anything about most of the pokemon in Unova that should be common knowledge. The voice of the pokedex was all but a low groan to her, and was more or less useless when it came to pokemon other than those that dwelled in Unova.
"W-well I could've told y-you that..." She spoke softly after the pokedex had finished. Solace regained her hand and raised an eyebrow at the wooper. What a curious little fellow. He didn't seem to be doing anything terribly wrong, so she supposed the best option at the time was to poke it and see how it reacted. Hopefully it wasn't too hyper.
Unfortunately, Ira was unacquainted with proper etiquette and so did not even realize there was a hand in front of her before she spoke. "I-I'm Ira." She spoke with small sentences that were short and sweet to the point, hoping that the other conversationalist would talk more so she wouldn't have to.
While Ira was busy looking at Suchi, Dominic had become entranced with the small Riolu that was now trying to catch its breath. New Pokemon were the coolest. Each one had different abilities and powers, and according to the Pokedex this one seemed more than capable of handling itself. A fighting type, just the sound of it told Dominic that he had to challenge this girl.
Meanwhile Suchi was making a new friend. As he finger touched the slimy wooper suchi let out another jovial woop before running back over to the Riolu, clearly more interested in getting to know it than the girl in front of her.
"Are you...A trainer?"
The girl was quiet, she clearly did not enjoy speaking, so without waiting for a response Dominic continued, hoping that she was in fact a trainer able to satisfy his need to train Suchi.
"Cause if you are, I bet my Suchi would give this little guy a run for his money!"
He said reaching down in an attempt to pet the Riolu, he wasn't sure what they felt like, but it looked almost like a bipedal dog. Perhaps this Pokemon felt like a dog did.
The girl chuckled, moving her hair behind her ear so she could hear the wooper better. It seemed happy to be in her presence, as most pokemon were, and kind of hyper-active. She crouched down to its level and reached a hand out in front of her, gently feeling the air around her hand until she had found the wooper. It was slimy and gross, but at the same time rather endearing and adorable. She hadn't encountered a wooper since she left the Hoenn region, so she was rather happy to be able to interact with one of these cute things again.
"A-actually..."She started, but was pulled away by her riolu. Solace barked at the boy in front of her when he tried to touch her and scooted back, obviously not wanting to be touched at the moment. She was too busy holding onto her beloved partner. Oh, well now it seemed he wanted a battle. She supposed she could treat him to one since she never turned down a trainer battle, and he seemed pretty intent on battling someone. "Solace...? Battle?"

Retracting his hand as the dog like pokemon growled at him. Dominic was immediately refocused as the girl spoke. Where she has asked a question of him, what Dominic heard was 'battle'. Not really needing any other information he took a few steps back and responded.
"Great! How many Pokemon do you have....No that doesn't matter we will just battle until we are both tired"
Suchi began to jump at the sound of it, while it didn't understand most of the words, battle was most certainly in its vocabulary. Making its way back over to Dom, the small wooper turned around to face its opponent. Both it and Dominic were assuming that the Lucario was the opponent, however she could choose any Pokemon she wanted. Suchi had been growing a lot, and it was clear to Dom that soom he would be ready to take on the Gym Leader. This would be the perfect test of his abilities.
The girl hushed her riolu's barking, gently pulling her paw closer to her. Ah, yes. Battle. It was always glorious when she battled-gloriously horrid. To be truthful, the girl actually didn't like battling. She would rather be playing with her pokemon than having them battle; however, battling made them stronger, and she had a few that actually liked to be strong. Ah, so was the life she had. Oh! This would be a good chance to battle with the newest addition to her family. Well... after the wooper, of course. Blight wouldn't do very well against a ground type like that.
She smiled softly and stuck out her pierced tongue as she fished around her bag for a specific pokeball. Ira had this odd way of finding pokeballs that involved tapping them and seeing which one wiggled the most energetically when tapped. Yes, she would do just fine.
The small girl pulled out a kind of beat-up pokeball (they had some issues with the deerling inside) and tossed out Dryad, the most elegant of her pokemon (aside from February, of course) and the best smelling of them all. Her crystalline pelt shimmered in the afternoon sun as she yawned, merely looking at the wooper below her and raising an eyebrow. Alright, this would be a sinch.
"Ready w-when you are." She said with a small smile on her lips.
Digging around in her bag led Dom to almost instantly realize that she was not in fact going to battle with the small dog Pokemon. Disappointed slightly that he could not see it in combat, the feeling was almost immediately wiped away as she located the ball she was looking for and released the Pokemon within. A tall deer like creature rose infront of him. It was truly graceful in appearance, but yet again he was forced to view his Pokedex for more information.
Deerling the season Pokemon- With the change of each season, Deerling's appearance changes as well.
Dominic was embarrassed, he was not actually sure what season it was, he had never been good at telling. Where he came from in Kanto it was always hot, so there was no need for fall or winter. He wondered what season the deerling was representing now. These curiosities were put to rest however due to the way the creature was eyeing Suchi.
"Suchi no need to wait, lets give it hell! Fire your water gun!"
He said, starting the battle with a pretty basic attack. Suchi replied, a mischevious smile plastered on its face. Opening its mouth to a wide oval, a spout of water came pouring out as if jetting from a fire hose. Dominic continued reading his Pokedex at the same time, looking between it and the battle constantly. He then realized the strategy that she was using. Deerling was part grass type, this meant that Woopers water gun may not effect it very much. A rookie mistake from a rookie trainer. Luckily Wooper was aggressive in the attack, so the fight would not be determined by type alone. So long as the creature did not have any hidden grass moves up its sleeve.
Water gun? Really? The deerling grinned mischeivously at the wooper as water came pouring from its mouth at a high velocity at her. She turned around and kicked up some of the pavement below, revealing fine sand underneath the road that was quickly kicked up after the stone. The Sand attack collided with the water gun, making for mushy, grainy mud that caked the ground.
The albino giggled. "Alright Dryad! Give it all you got-Leech Seed!" She commanded, pointing towards the wooper as the deerling jumped back and forth excitedly. Her crystal back began glowing as she reeled her head back and thrust her entire body forward. The glowing seeds that had formed on her back were sent flying towards the wooper, already sprouting as they got closer and closer to their destined target.
Waddling quickly out of the way, it would be impossible to dodge the entire flurry of seeds, as it only took one to cause reasonable damage, the wooper would be at a disadvantage. Really the entire battle was stacked against the poor creature. The pokemon was both physically stronger, and was grass, so both water and ground moves would be ineffective. A few of the seeds latched onto Suchi, although they were light to impact. While Suchi's energy would slowly drain from him, the effects were not immediate. At its already steady pace Dom made his next command.
"Suchi, Fall in for a tail whip and then veer for a head butt!"
The Wooper was notorious for its head butt. It had been the attack to defeat Clare on their first meeting, and also the attack to beat the Pichu during his first trainer battle. It had beaten Hoothoot badly, and had protected Dom from the electric Pokemon inside the abandoned power plant. The attack was a good one, and it was aimed at the deerling's chest. Not before its body swung around for an attempt at lowering the Deerlings defense.
The Wooper would spin around essentially using its tail as the bait in order to catch the Deerling off guard, if that was successful then the head butt would be a piece of cake, hitting the deerling like a rock and causing decent damage.
All the while the leech seed technique was eating away, its effects not yet seen. Suchi was tough, and would not show signs of quarter easily.
Ira bit her bottom lip. There really wasn't any way she could avoid the tail whip, and if she told Dryad to dodge too much, the headstrong deerling would stand her ground and do her own thing. Dryad would have done her own thing anyway since it was just a dumb tail whip, and so didn't affect her too terribly much.
"D-Dryad! Intercept that headbutt with a Tackle and disguise yourself!" She shouted, thinking fast as to what her next plan of action should be while be discrete. The deerling gladly rushed at the wooper and flung her flank at it, hoping she wouldn't miss. She had better not miss-the wooper wasn't even looking right at her!
Well, who could? Her crystalline body shone in the sun for a moment before she enacted her natural Camouflage. She was nearly invisible on the concrete and it didn't really change her type; she was still normal and grass. The only difference was she couldn't be told apart from the rest of the scenery unless your sense of smell could pick up on her odd, minty, wintry scent.
The two collided much to Dominic's surprise. He had not expected the trainer to command her deerling into a full on attack, and so the Pokemon made contact with each other, the headbutt landing squarely on the deerling's Torso. This of course would have been a direct hit if it had not been for the force behind the tackle, neither Pokemon would win in this situation.
After the impact Suchi stumbled backwards shaking itself off and then peering back at its opponent only to find that it was gone. While Suchi seemed rather confused Dominic had seen it happen, the Pokemon had phased in with its surrounding activating a camouflager technique. He knew of Pokemon capable of this from Hoenn so the attack was not terribly foreign to him. It was then that he noticed the battle field around them. Deerling had already caused a large amount of mud to appear because of the sand attack mixing with the water gun, and if his knowledge of Camouflager was correct then the Pokemon's type would change to match. This could be the one opportunity Dom had to actually score some sizable damage.
"Suchi, lets use mud sport!"
The wooper was understandably cautious. Its enemy had just disappeared, and now rather than attacking it was ordered to splash mud around, but it did so lifting its head, pointing upwards, and letting the mud shoot out like a spout. It was already muddy around them, but this would be more than enough to coat the entire area. Certainly Dominic would have to answer to the townspeople later about messing up their fine time square, but he had to give it a try. At least one of two things was bound to happen, at least by Dom's logic. The Deerling's type would be ground, making it susceptible to water attacks, or it would at least not be coated in mud and visible to Suchi. That after all was the goal.
"Clean it off Suchi!"
Dominic knew where the Pokemon was simply by watching it use the attack in the first place, and so he pointed at it to help his pokemon see, although by now the mud would hopefully have revealed it. Suchi got the idea, firing its high pressured water gun at the deerling either in its general direction or directly at it depending on how well the mud sport had worked. If the deerling had ground type camou then it would be super effected by the attack, a strange turn of events for the fight.
Okay, this type thing was going nowhere in her favor. The deerling Growled loudly as she stepped through the mud, getting the wet dirt all over her nice, clean hooves. Well, mostly clean. There was still some sand trapped in there from earlier, but what all did that matter? They were having a battle, and it seemed to be going against her favor. Ground types were the absolute worst, and the crystal pokemon absolutely hated being associated with them. Fighting a wooper was bad enough, but she was so confident about winning that she didn't think that the wooper using water sport would actually affect her.
And now there was a water gun headed straight for her. Shit, she couldn't perform any other grass-type moves! Now she was in a real pickle. Ira, I hope you can get out of this one. "Dryad! Take it Down!" The girl called from the side, her riolu tugging at her sides. This was... only her second trainer battle? Well! This was going to be a fun ride.
Dryad scoffed as the water approached her at an even faster rate as she charged towards it. The pressured water hit her head-on as she charged right on through it, detracting a lot of her energy due to the effects of the water sport. However, her thick head got her through the water gun and allowed her to charge at the wooper once again. Dryad hurled her entire body (from front to back this time) at the wooper, willing herself to take it down with her in one huge attack.
To say Dominic was surprised would be an understatement. He seriously had never considered the idea that she would sacrifice her Deerlings health for a strong forward attack, but that is exactly what happened. The Deerling took Suchi's hit head on, literally, and pushed through the water gun, ignoring the pain and breaking through the attack. Dominic wanted to warn Suchi about the attack, but what was he supposed to tell the pokemon. Dodging was out of the question, caught in a water gun stream meant limited mobility, and the wooper waddled at that, so any movement out of the way was impossible. The only hope that was left was to push out as much water as possible before impact.
"Keep it going Suchi! Give it everything you got!"
Suchi continued the assault, the pressured water scathing against the now ground type before it. Eventually however the attack would be stopped, and rather forcefully at that. Deerling finally broke the stream hitting wooper with the Take down and flinging it across the field. Even having been slowed by the water gun, the take down was more than enough to send Suchi flying. Landing several feet away the wooper laid motionless for a moment.
He asked worriedly hoping the pokemon could still get up. Although momentarily stunned, the wooper slowly found its way back up, taking a deep breath and sighing before looking back at its enemy, this was an interesting situation. All Suchi could do was spam his water gun and hope that it eventually took the deerling out, but could Suchi take another take down. If the next attack didn't hinder the deerling, the fight could be over quickly.
"Okay Suchi, you have the range, fire it off again, and finish it for good this time!"
With only three real attacks to draw from, Suchi did not have much of a choice in what attack to use. The wooper took a deep breath, its cheeks filling with water before finally releasing the pressured blast back at its opponent.
